He was 80. Kannur : Writer and orator TKD Muzhappilangad (T K Damodaran) passed away at Kozhikode Govt Medical College Hospital on Thursday morning.

He was under treatment after suffering serious injuries following a road accident occurred on Aug 18 morning. He has written around 50 plays and 40 other books. He was hit by a van when he trying to cross the national highway stretch at Muzhappilangad. He suffered serious injuries on head and neck and was undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Govt Medical College Hospital. He has served as the editor of several periodicals and newspapers published from Malabar. He was a recipient of several awards, including Kerala Sahithya Academy award, Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy award and Kerala State Institute of Children’s Literature award. He leaves behind son Sreejith Prasad and daughters Sangeetha Jagatheesan and Sreeshitha Shylesh. Download the TOI App.
