Crime Branch ADGP H Venkatesh will supervise SIT, while SP Vikraman will be the investigating officer. The nine-member team comprises three DSPs, three inspectors and other officers. It can be expanded if required during the investigation.
The team has been directed to complete the preliminary investigation within 30 days.
It could also recommend handing over the probe to an agency such as CBI if the investigation involves transactions or evidence in international jurisdictions, sources said. Thiruvananthapuram : The state govt has constituted a special investigation team (SIT) of Crime Branch to probe information shared by Enforcement Directorate (ED) on CMRL-Exalogic financial transactions involving former chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan , his daughter Veena T and son-in-law and former minister P A Mohamed Riyas. It will collect details from ED officers who handed over the evidence and documents related to the allegations before deciding on further action. If the team finds evidence to substantiate the charges, it will register an FIR and proceed with a criminal investigation.
