Kochi : Angamaly police investigating the death of a 36-year-old woman who was found dead at a house in Karukutty said that preliminary scientific examinations have not indicated foul play.
Police said the primary reports after the autopsy have not shown any signs of external force as there were no visible injuries. Her condition and the open back door raised suspicion, the police said. Police said an investigation is continuing regarding the circumstances around the death. She earned a living by selling lottery tickets at Angamaly KSRTC bus stand and other locations, the police said.
Investigators are awaiting pathology reports and other detailed forensic reports before confirming the cause of death. The house broker, who had not seen her outside for several days, informed the Karukutty panchayat president. The president and locals visited the house and noticed a foul smell before alerting Angamaly Police. The front door was locked from inside, while the back door was open. She had been living alone in the house for the past four months.
