Kochi : The development activities led by Goshree Island Development Authority (Gida) must be completed in a time-bound manner, said chief minister V D Satheeshan, who is also the Gida chairperson. Infrastructure facilities, including bridges parallel to the Goshree bridge and connectivity to the islands, need to be improved, he said. The CM also said that comprehensive development projects aimed at transforming Kochi and its surrounding areas into an important tourism destination must be implemented.
If the fixed timeline to complete a project is two years, it must be finished within that same period. The chief minister also reminded that extending it into the third year would not be permitted. He was speaking at the 38th general council meeting of Gida on Saturday.
At the meeting, Hibi Eden, MP, mayor V K Minimol, MLAs T J Vinod, Tony Chammany and Muhammad Shiyas, the chief minister’s officer on special duty N S K Umesh, Gida secretary and collector G Priyanka and panchayat presidents of local bodies which fall under Gida attended the meeting.
