The LDF councillors said that the now dysfunctional theatre should not be pulled down on safety grounds. “The building should be renovated if there isn’t much problem,” LDF councillor V A Sreejith said. UDF councillor from Fort Kochi Shiny Mathew said that the building should be razed down and a new commercial complex should be built there. The case pending regarding a rented structure distinct from the main building will also be looked into,” mayor V K Minimol said.
