ERODE: Madras high court has directed the Erode district administration to seal 42 illegal resorts operating in the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve (STR) area, which spans 1,411.6 square km, citing concerns over ecological harm. The court said the resorts functioned without proper authorisation and posed a threat to the ecological balance of the protected area. Officials were instructed to complete the sealing process within three weeks.
