Madras high court on Friday reserved orders on the anticipatory bail plea of a DMK functionary who was booked in a Srirangam temple land fraud case.
The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner is alleged to have illegally grabbed a 7,515 sq ft land parcel belonging to Srirangam temple in Vellithirumutttam village in Srirangam taluk, Trichy district. The court was hearing the anticipatory bail plea of a DMK functionary, N Ramkumar, who was booked by the Trichy city crime branch police. Based on the complaint lodged by the temple’s joint commissioner/executive officer, police registered a case against six people, including the petitioner and the sub-registrar. After elaborately hearing the arguments, Justice K Murali Shankar reserved orders.
