Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim visits Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Muslaiyar on Sunday
The Malaysian PM arrived at the Markaz in Karanthur at 5.40pm on Saturday and was received by a delegation led by Markaz working secretary Muhammed Abdul Hakeem Azhari.
On the challenges posed by these developments, Ibrahim said, “Our concern is, we need the knowledge, we need expertise; but our concern is also the need to protect our faith and moral values. Without understanding artificial intelligence, we will remain colonized and we will become just weapons – weaponized by foreign forces to weaken our resolve,” he said. Ibrahim began his speech by saying, “Enthaanu varthamaanam” (How are things?) in Malayalam. He said that Malaysia has close ties with Keralam, particularly the Malabar region.

He was speaking after receiving the Sheikh Abubacker Foundation’s Excellence Award from All India Sunni Jem Iyyathul Ulema general secretary Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar at Markazu Saquafathi Sunniyya at Karanthur near here. The award is given to prominent personalities working in the fields of humanitarian service, social reform and educational advancement. “Without knowledge, we will fail. Leaders, including Indian Union Muslim League state president Panakkad Sadikkali Shihab Thangal, industries minister P K Kunhalikutty also arrived at the Markaz and met Ibrahim. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making arrangements that enabled him to reach Karanthur and conveyed Modi’s greetings to Aboobacker Musliyar. Musliyar presented Ibrahim with a handwritten manuscript of Sahih al-Bukhari, the world-renowned collection of Hadith. Karnataka health minister U T Khader, E Sulaiman Musliyar, Syed Ali Bafaqi Thangal, Syed Ibrahimul Khaleelul Bukhari, Perode Abdurahman Saqafi, C. Mohammed Faizy, among others, also met the Malaysian PM.
