Madurai: The TVK govt will overhaul Tamil Nadu ’s FL-2 liquor licensing system next, minister Vignesh said on Sunday, alleging that licences issued under the previous administration facilitated violations and provided scope for bribe collection. Vignesh said the govt was presently concentrating on FL-1 operations and enforcement against MRP violations before moving to the next phase of regulatory changes. “We are regularising FL-1 now and ensuring that MRP violations do not take place. Next, we are going to FL-2,” he said. Vignesh said the exercise would later extend to FL-3 and FL-11 licences, with amendments to rules and operating procedures planned before the govt addresses other issues in the liquor retail system.
