Kochi : The special investigation team (SIT) probing the Thrikkakara morphing case has sought the freezing of the second accused Saneesh ’s bank account as part of the investigation into financial transactions linked to it.
A police officer said advertisements were placed on social media to attract individuals, following which Rs 250 was allegedly charged to access the images. The investigation has revealed that Saneesh, an Alappuzha native, allegedly used his bank accounts for transactions related to the sale of morphed obscene videos involving female students and teachers through a Telegram group, said police. Police had also invoked provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act against Saneesh and prime accused Sreehari S after a preliminary examination of mobile phones and a laptop seized from them allegedly revealed visuals containing child pornography.
Meanwhile, Sreehari, who was in police custody, was produced in Kakkanad court on Wednesday after the expiry of his remand period.
