Tamil Nadu has warned autorickshaw dealers of cancellation of their trade certificates if they collect charges over and above the displayed vehicle price.
Under Rule 43B of the Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, dealers must prominently display model-wise selling prices at their outlets, separately specifying all applicable taxes and charges payable by buyers.
Dealers collecting amounts beyond the displayed price could face stringent action, including cancellation of their trade certificates, the circular said.
