This was the situation at two weddings in Mundakayam-Chottiyil and Kottayam-Kanjikuzhy on Sunday, both allegedly let down by the same Mundakayam-based catering establishment, according to police complaints filed by the two families.
At the Mundakayam-Chottiyil wedding, the bride’s family — from Panackachira — had paid Rs 1.4 lakh, and the wedding eve food had arrived on schedule.
Calls to the caterer went unanswered through the afternoon, the complaint said. But on the wedding day, not even drinking water was arranged.
