Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday urgedUnion civil aviation minister K Rammohan Naidu to expedite the development of Adilabad and Mamnoor (Warangal) airports in Telangana .
Revanth met Rammohan Naidu at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, the civil aviation ministry’s office in Delhi, the chief minister’s office (CMO) said. The CMO said the Union minister informed Revanth Reddy that tenders for the Mamnoor airport would be floated within two weeks, finalised by Dec, and the foundation for the works would be laid that same month. The CM informed the Union minister that the land acquisition for the Mamnoor airport has been completed and handed over. The CM requested the Union minister to establish cargo and passenger terminals, as well as MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) facilities, at the Adilabad airport. He also urged the minister to convene a joint meeting between the defence and civil aviation departments to finalise the runway specifications for the Adilabad airport.
