Assembly case: HC relief for KTR aides
Justice J Sreenivas Rao issued the direction while hearing a petition filed by the duo seeking to quash a criminal case registered against them at Saifabad police station in Hyderabad in connection with the alleged attack on police personnel and assembly marshals at the assembly on Sept 7. The judge also issued notices to the police, seeking their response to the petition.
The matter was adjourned to Sept 21 for further hearing. The petitioners contended that they had been falsely implicated in the case due to political rivalry and, in particular, to divert public attention from the high court’s Sept 7 order directing the Telangana DGP not to prevent BRS MLAs from entering the assembly. Hyderabad : The Telangana high court on Friday directed the police not to take any coercive action, including arrest, against BRS working president KT Rama Rao ’s media coordinator and PRO, Manikya Mahesh, and personal assistant Kumbala Mahender Reddy, while permitting the investigation in the case to continue.
