HYDERABAD: The Congress government in Telangana faced a fresh offensive from the BJP and BRS as it approached the 1,000-day mark, with the two opposition parties launching separate poster and banner campaigns targeting chief minister Revanth Reddy and his government. The Telangana BJP put up posters at several prominent locations across Hyderabad, taking aim at the Congress government over its 1,000 days in office, news agency PTI reported. The opposition campaigns come as the Congress government prepares to mark 1,000 days in office. More than 25 lakh farmers benefited from a crop-loan waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh, while over 15 lakh new ration cards were issued, according to the government’s own assessment. The government has also highlighted free RTC bus travel for women, free electricity up to 200 units and Rs 500 LPG refills among its welfare measures.

Meanwhile, BRS leaders from the Cantonment constituency put up massive 420-foot banners near Begumpet Airport, targeting the Congress government over what they described as its “420 promises, declarations and guarantees”. The Reddy government has been highlighting its record in welfare, development, social justice and administrative reforms as it approaches the milestone.
