The action was taken by Amroha Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand on Monday after the MLA alleged that police failed to reach the spot for nearly 30 minutes despite being informed about the incident. Meanwhile, supporters of the MLA gathered at the spot and managed to catch 2 of the accused, later handing them over to the police. A complaint was filed by the MLA’s supporter Satveer Singh, naming 2 accused and 7 unidentified persons. Police registered a case against 9 accused, naming 2, under sections 191(2), 109(1), 132, 351(3), 125(a), 309(5), and 324(4) of BNS.

The incident occurred when a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction collided with the MLA’s car, according to police. After the collision, the MLA’s security personnel reportedly reprimanded the bike riders, leading to an argument that escalated into a scuffle between the bike riders and the MLA’s security personnel. MLA Rajeev Tarara immediately informed SSI Satish Maurya over the phone. However, when the police did not arrive promptly, the MLA expressed his displeasure and contacted SP Amit Kumar Anand. Following the SP’s intervention, police officials, including Circle Officer Pankaj Tyagi, reached the scene. The complaint alleges an attempt to murder the MLA and an attempt to snatch a carbine.
