The authorities confiscated 1 quintal and 340 grams of ganja, with an estimated street value of around Rs 50 lakh. Identification of Accused Individuals in Recent Case
Authorities have identified three individuals linked to a recent incident. Mukund Yadav, 24, and Rohit Sidar, 23, are both residents of Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh. Ashish Maurya, aged 19, is from Mirzapur district. The investigation continues as details emerge surrounding their involvement.
During a search of the vehicle, police recovered 93 packets of ganja weighing 1 quintal 340 grams. A case was subsequently registered at Chopan police station under Sections 8, 20, 27A, 29 and 60 of the NDPS Act. During interrogation, the accused allegedly revealed that the contraband had been procured from Odisha and was to be delivered to a person in Mirzapur district. A tip-off was received that a suspicious car had entered the service lane near the bridge leading towards Obra, according to police. Police said efforts were underway to identify others linked to the network and take appropriate legal action. Police cordoned off the area, intercepted the vehicle and detained its three occupants.
