A 34-year-old man was discovered deceased in his residence located in Jarouli Phase-2, Kanpur, on Thursday evening, according to local police reports. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, which occurred under the jurisdiction of the Gujaini police station.

The family members told the police that after receiving no response for a long time, they opened his room and found his body hanging. Sumit , son of Shri Babu, a labourer, returned home from duty in an inebriated state. Next morning his daughter found his body hanging from the ceiling of his room. On being informed, Gujaini police and a forensic team arrived at the site and inspected the scene. The police collected evidence and took Sumit’s mobile phone into custody for examination. His body was sent for post-mortem. Sumit is survived by his wife Sapna , a son and a daughter.
