Pilibhit : A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his mother following an argument over money in Bisalpur, police said on Friday.
Mother Allegedly Murdered by Son After Fall
Vikas Gangwar, a resident of Nasrullapur village, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his mother, Sunita Devi, following a fall from their home’s roof. On Wednesday night, Gangwar reportedly pushed the 50-year-old woman from a height of 14 feet. When she survived the fall, he is accused of strangling her, according to police reports.
Initially, Gangwar informed family members that his mother had died from an accidental fall. However, an autopsy revealed severe neck injuries along with multiple fractures to her ribs and arms, undermining his claim.
Police apprehended Gangwar near a canal towpath in Bisalpur on Friday. He has been charged with murder under section 103(1) of the BNS and was subsequently presented before a remand magistrate before being taken to jail.
Tragic Family History of Gangwar Revealed
Gangwar is the last surviving son of his parents. His elder brother, Akash Gangwar, tragically took his own life three years ago. He was found hanging inside their home, following an undisclosed family dispute, according to the Station House Officer (SHO).
