Varanasi: A 26-year-old woman has lodged a named FIR against her husband and parents-in-law, alleging that they tried to force her into flesh trade and made obscene videos of her to blackmail her. Police arrested her husband on Sunday.
Manduadih police station in charge Digambar Upadhyaya said that, based on the woman’s complaint, an FIR was lodged against her husband Vishnu Prajapati, father-in-law Rameshi and mother-in-law under Section 67A of the IT Act and Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) and 85 (cruelty by husband or relatives) of the BNS. The woman told police that on Aug 29, she left for her parental home in West Bengal with her two daughters.
She said she feared the accused could drive her and her children to suicide by circulating the video. She further alleged that during one such incident, her husband forced himself on her and recorded an obscene video. After that, the accused allegedly sent the video to her family members’ mobile phones and threatened to make it viral.
