Pilibhit: A 32-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle collided with a stray bull near Taparpurva village on the Dhakherwa-Nighasan road in Kheri district around 9pm on Saturday, police said Sunday.
Paduwa police station SHO Mohit Pundir confirmed the incident and said an FIR would be registered after a formal written complaint was received. Komal Maurya was returning to Gularipurava village under Nighasan police station after closing his Common Service Centre (CSC) in Kharwahia village when the accident occurred. Locals rushed him to a nearby govt medical facility, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police sent the body for postmortem examination.
However, a revenue officer said the deceased’s legal heir would be eligible for Rs 4 lakh from the State Disaster Relief Fund, subject to the FIR and postmortem report.
Kheri ADM Narendra Bahadur Singh said, “We would verify whether a death caused by a stray bull collision was covered under the state govt’s disaster relief scheme.
