Gorakhpur : A 45-year-old man allegedly attacked his 40-year-old wife with a sickle during a domestic dispute in Haraiya village under Gida police station on Sunday evening, leaving her critically injured.

He suspected her of having an extramarital relationship, which had reportedly led to frequent disputes between the couple, according to sources. Their eldest daughter, Rehanuma, told police that her father frequently assaulted her mother. CO Gida Abha Singh said the accused was being questioned.
