Varanasi: A 55-year-old woman from Buxar (Bihar), rescued by fishermen from a hut in a flooded village in Ballia district, was reunited her with family on Tuesday.
On the other hand, Sunaina’s nephew Govind said on Wednesday that she left home 10 days ago to buy medicine and disappeared.
The fishermen, who alerted police regarding her presence near the Ganga bank, said they heard the woman chanting Shiv Mantras when their attention was drawn and they took her out of the flooded field. Haldi police station incharge Rajiv Rai said Sunaina spoke about her family and village in Buxar district, but she could not recall phone number of any of her family members. Govind said that their family was waiting to Sunaina’s condition to normalise to know what actually happened.
Police contacted some locals in Kapurpatti village of Buxar and her family was traced. They reached Ballia and took her back with them. After searching her at all possible places, they lodged a missing person case of with Buxar police.
