Prayagraj : The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has once again extended the deadline for applications for the recruitment of 11,508 assistant teachers in urban area council-run primary schools and 897 assistant teachers in the primary sections of aided schools. Following a high court order, candidates who completed an 18-month Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) through the National Institute of Open Schooling ( NIOS ) can now submit their applications, along with the application fee, online till Nov 11. The deadline for making corrections in submitted applications is Nov 13.
Commission deputy secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh said the opportunity is available to in-service teachers who were in service on Aug 10, 2017, and had completed the 18-month NIOS D.El.Ed-ODL course before April 1, 2019. The written examination for the recruitment is scheduled to be held on Dec 3 and 4. Earlier, the commission had extended the application deadline for candidates holding a two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) and four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) degrees from Oct 28 to Nov 4.
The commission’s application portal was reopened on Friday for eligible candidates.
