The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Lucknow : AAP MP Sanjay Singh on Wednesday said that if Union home minister Amit Shah ’s claim that three crore Bangladeshis had been identified during the SIR exercise was true, he should immediately resign.

If there are infiltrators here, what have the home minister and the PM been doing for the past 12 years? On top of that, Yogi Adityanath has now said that 1.5 crore Hindus’ names have been deleted during the SIR exercise,” Singh said. He said that of the names deleted through SIR, 2.8 crore belonged to deceased persons, 6.3 crore to those who had shifted, 1 crore were duplicates and 3 crore belonged to people who were absent.

He said that a Bangladeshi could be identified by his name and that govt should therefore provide a break-up of all those whose names had been deleted.

He said the issue of SIR and ‘vote chori’ would be raised in Parliament and that govt would have to answer. “The home minister and the PM are responsible for the country’s security.
