When asked why one of the accused, Vishal , named Shalu after the encounter, Dheeraj said police would have to determine the reason, adding that his sister was also surprised by the allegation. He claimed that Subrat had given Vishal’s phone number to Shalu so she could contact him for minor household work, and that she knew him only as a staff member. Dheeraj Arora and Sonia Mehrotra, siblings of Shalu Arora, have spoken out about her character and current emotional state. They asserted that Shalu maintained a positive relationship with her father-in-law, assisting him with his dietary needs due to his diabetes. Dheeraj reported that Shalu has been inconsolable in jail for the past three days, expressing a deep longing to see her son. He mentioned that during his two visits, she repeatedly inquired about her son and husband, claiming that neither has visited her in prison thus far.
