Lucknow: Tension prevailed in Nai Kashiram Colony in Lucknow’s Para area on Monday after a man climbed a community water tank, alleging he had not received justice in a dispute.
A police team along with personnel from the 112 emergency response service rushed to the colony and began negotiations. Police said that Vinod recently had an argument with a neighbour after which police action was taken against him. Hanskheda outpost in charge Munnalal said preventive action for breach of peace was being initiated against the parties involved. The incident took place around noon when a man, Vinod Sonkar, climbed atop the water tank, drawing the attention of residents. As news spread, a large crowd gathered at the spot. Police officers counselled Vinod and assured him that his grievance would be resolved. After prolonged efforts, they succeeded in persuading him to descend safely.
