Agra : A nine-year-old boy, who went missing during a village fair in UP’s Mathura district on Sept 23, was allegedly sexually assaulted, hacked to death and dumped by a 16-year-old, police said on Monday.
The victim’s family had organised the fair and the Class 3 student went missing from there, prompting his family to search for him for three days. The juvenile had set up a stall at the fair; he allegedly offered the boy a cold drink and Rs 20 before luring him behind the temple and assaulting him. The juvenile has been detained. They later approached the police. During investigation, police identified the juvenile, who is believed to be a distant relative of the victim, as the main suspect. When he threatened to inform his father, the accused struck him repeatedly with a brick, killing him.
The boy’s partly mutilated body was found in bushes near a pond behind a temple on Saturday, according to police.
