After receiving no response from within, he alerted the authorities. Police reached the spot and, after opening the door, found the student hanging. However, family members questioned the hostel’s monitoring system and alleged inadequate supervision of students during the holiday period. They demanded an inquiry into the safety arrangements and accountability in the event of any negligence. A two-doctor panel conducted the postmortem examination under videography. The postmortem report cited hanging as the cause of death.
