UP Board

Last year, around 53.37 lakh students registered for the two examinations, including 27.61 lakh in High School and 25.75 lakh in Intermediate. UP Board secretary Bhagwati Singh said the drop of around 80,000-90,000 candidates this year could lead to a reduction in the number of examination centres. The board has also recorded around 27.60 lakh registrations for Class 9 and 22.80 lakh for Class 11, taking the combined number of students in the two classes to approximately 50.40 lakh. The marksheet-cum-certificate format was revised in 2023 and no issues have been reported with it so far, board secretary Bhagwati Singh said, adding that students appearing for the 2027 board exams will get their marksheets and certificates in the same format.

Prayagraj: Around 52.5 lakh students have registered for the UP Board Class 10 and 12 exams for the 2026-27 session. The allocation of centres will be completed by November 27. Around 27.75 lakh students have registered for the High School examination and 24.80 lakh for the Intermediate examination, according to provisional figures available after the registration deadline on Sept 30.

The Board will release the final figures in the next four to five days. The board is also strengthening arrangements for monitoring the examinations through command and control rooms at its headquarters in Prayagraj, as well as in Lucknow and all district headquarters. Online monitoring will be carried out from these centres to ensure supervision of the examination process. Meanwhile, around three crore answer booklets are being printed for the upcoming examinations.

The number is lower than last year and is likely to bring down the number of exam centres as well. The board changed the layout of answer sheets last year to streamline the examination process.
