LUCKNOW: Lucknow district has recorded the highest number of beneficiaries at 7,491 showing an extensive reach of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund at district-level distribution of amount beneficiaries across Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow is followed by Prayagraj with 6,572, Gorakhpur with 5,463 and Kanpur Nagar with 4,890. Among other districts with significant beneficiary numbers, Gonda recorded 3,647 beneficiaries, Azamgarh 3,417, Pratapgarh 3,240, Varanasi 3,220, Jaunpur 3,219 and Sitapur 3,192. Further, Kushinagar had 3,179 beneficiaries, Deoria 2,914, Barabanki 2,911, Raebareli 2,701 and Ayodhya 2,246. Lucknow Division recorded 19,507 beneficiaries, the highest among the divisions. It was followed by Gorakhpur with 13,621, Prayagraj with 12,019, Ayodhya with 10,427, Varanasi with 9,364 and Kanpur with 8,433 beneficiaries. Devipatan had 7,201 beneficiaries and Azamgarh 6,760, while Basti recorded 3,740 and Mirzapur 3,335. The figures further include Jhansi with 2,263, Chitrakoot with 1,894, Agra with 1,617, Moradabad with 1,441 and Meerut with 1,308 beneficiaries. Between 2021-22 and 2025-26, a total of 2,44,263 beneficiaries received assistance amounting to Rs 4,324.60 crore through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. In 2021-22, assistance worth Rs 289.71 crore was provided to 16,640 beneficiaries. In 2022-23, the amount increased to Rs 572.97 crore, benefiting 31,745 people. In 2024-25, the fund recorded its highest annual assistance during the five-year period, with Rs 1,344.94 crore provided to 66,874 beneficiaries. The average assistance per beneficiary during the year was around Rs 2.01 lakh. The expansion continued in 2023-24, when 54,473 beneficiaries received assistance worth Rs 1,008.50 crore. In 2025-26, assistance worth Rs 1,108.48 crore was approved for a record 74,531 beneficiaries. The number of beneficiaries increased by 11.4 per cent over the previous year and reached the highest level in the five-year period. The average assistance stood at approximately Rs 1.49 lakh per beneficiary.
