Bharat Taxi was launched in UP today by CM Yogi Adityanath
Lucknow : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday honoured five ‘Saarthis’ of Bharat Taxi and distributed loan cheques to beneficiaries of the chief minister’s ‘Krishak Samriddhi Yojana’ during the MoU-signing event for Bharat Taxi.
40,000 UP drivers register with Bharat Taxi: Mohol Union minister of state for cooperation and civil aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, said that more than Rs 100 crore had been transferred to the accounts of driver-partners over the past six months. Currently, ‘Bharat Taxi’ operates in about 15 cities nationwide. Approximately 40,000 drivers in UP have registered so far. He highlighted that there are approximately 42,000 cooperative societies active in UP.

Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said Bharat Taxi is a significant initiative featuring a system in which individuals use their own vehicles and drive themselves, thereby keeping earnings circulating locally within families and the economy. He urged the people of the state to work together to make ‘Bharat Taxi’ a success and become its brand ambassadors. The computerisation of PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies) and the digitisation of rural banks are progressing rapidly. He added that Uttar Pradesh’s cooperative model could serve as an inspiration for other states and that ‘Bharat Taxi’ is a crucial initiative giving new momentum to the cooperative movement within the mobility sector. Meanwhile, Anil Kumar Singh (Rs 6 lakh), Ankush Kumar (Rs 5 lakh), Avadhesh Kumar (Rs 4.5 lakh), Babulal Rajput (Rs 3 lakh) and Sanjay (Rs 2 lakh) received loan cheques from CM. On the occasion, JPS Rathore, minister of state (independent charge) for the cooperative department, also handed over a cheque worth Rs 2.7 crore to the chief minister, representing the dividend from the Uttar Pradesh State Warehousing Corporation. The Saarthis who were felicitated included Sumandeep Kaur, Amit Kumar Agarwal, Amrish Sonkar, Shashank Pandey and Pankaj Kumar Verma. CEO of Bharat Taxi, Himanshu, exchanged MoUs with chief commercial officer, Adani Airport Lucknow, Shiv Mohan Singh; managing director, UP Metro Rail Corporation, Sushil Kumar; and DIG, Traffic and Road Safety, Lucknow, Arvind Kumar Maurya.
