Lucknow: An FIR has been registered against 50 supporters of the son of the late former BJP MLA Ajay Pratap alias Lalla Bhaiya for allegedly creating a ruckus, abusing people and manhandling police personnel during a Dussehra event at Ramlila ground in Colonelganj town of Gonda on Oct 20.
During the event, 50 supporters of Sharden Mohan Singh allegedly attempted to take control of the stage without permission.
“The act amounted to obstructing govt officials from performing their duties and threatened public order,” said Colonelganj police station in charge Abhay Singh. Singh was deployed at Ramlila ground along with other police personnel to maintain law and order. When police personnel tried to stop the group, they engaged in pushing and shoving. They also used abusive language. A video of the incident is also circulating on social media.
The FIR was registered on Wednesday afternoon, following a complaint by Colonelganj police outpost in charge Sumit Kumar Singh.
