Eight members of a family, including six children, were injured when a mud wall collapsed
The injured were identified as labourer Munna Singh (50), his wife Ramakanti (48), and their children Deepak (20), Shubham (9), Raunak (6), Anjali (11), Rinki (13) and Pinki (14).
Four children are said to be in critical condition. Kanpur: Eight members of a family, including six children, were injured after a mud wall fell on their thatched house amid continuous rain in Nayapurwa Kaindha village under Sachendi police station early Monday. Villagers who heard the crash and screams rescue efforts, and informed the police. Villagers removed the debris and pulled out all eight family members, who were taken to Kalyanpur community health centre. Doctors referred the four seriously injured children to Lala Lajpat Rai hospital for further treatment, while the others were treated at the health centre.
The family was sleeping beneath the thatched roof adjoining their room when the wall collapsed around 3.30 am, burying them under debris.
