Gorakhpur: On Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress of the two-lane/four-lane road project connecting HN Singh Chowk to Jagesar Pasi Chauraha via Hararwa Phatak. He specifically called out officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), Jal Nigam, and Setu Nigam for their lack of efficiency in advancing the project.
The CM inspected the under-construction road at two locations, near Smart Bazaar and beyond Hardhwa Phatak, and reviewed the progress of the Rs 495.24-crore widening project. He examined the layout model presented by the PWD and sought details of the road’s dimensions and work completed so far. Expressing displeasure over the lack of progress, Yogi warned officials against laxity and directed the departments to expedite work. PWD is executing the road project, while Jal Nigam is laying the sewer line and Setu Nigam is constructing the overbridge at Hararwa Phatak. The CM directed officials to ensure the road is made motorable before the upcoming festivals and traffic movement remains uninterrupted during construction.
