Historic Chhadami Lal Jain Temple

Lucknow: Around 80% of the Rs 1.28 crore tourism development project at Firozabad’s historic Chhadami Lal Jain Temple has been completed and the full work is scheduled for delivery by the end of Oct, Uttar Pradesh govt said on Thursday. Construction of the multipurpose hall and dormitory is about 85% complete, while work on the mural walls has reached around 60%.
Tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh said preservation and development of Jain heritage sites is a key component of the tourism push, citing the Jain community’s contribution to the state’s cultural and spiritual legacy. He said the objective is to improve facilities for visitors and pilgrims without compromising traditions, and to enable travellers from across the country to experience the destinations in greater comfort while connecting with their heritage. Officials said the upgrade includes a multipurpose hall, a dormitory and decorative mural walls. Additional chief secretary, tourism, Amrit Abhijat said the project aims to integrate heritage conservation with modern tourist infrastructure.
The initiative is part of the state’s broader plan to strengthen the Jain tourism circuit by adding modern visitor amenities while conserving heritage structures, traditional practices and architectural character.
