Bulandshahr: A 25-year-old food delivery worker has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment by a special Pocso court in Bulandshahr for abducting and raping a six-year-old girl after allegedly luring her with biscuits and toffees in Sikandrabad in 2025. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 58,000 on him.
During the investigation, police identified the accused and added charges under BNS Section 137(2) (kidnapping or abducting a person), Section 65(2) (rape of a woman under 12 years of age) and Section 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), along with relevant provisions of the POCSO Act. He was arrested on Feb 12, 2025, and a chargesheet was subsequently filed. When the child did not return, her family searched for her but could not find her. Her mother later lodged a complaint at Sikandrabad police station that evening, following which an FIR was registered against an unidentified person under relevant provisions of the BNS.
After examining the evidence and hearing arguments from both sides, special Pocso court judge Manoj Kumar Mishra found the accused guilty and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment.
The court also considered the victim’s statement, in which she described how the man had approached her while she was playing and took her away on his motorcycle,” said ADGC Varun Kaushik. “During the trial, the prosecution presented witnesses and documentary and scientific evidence to establish the charges.
