Union home minister Amit Shah

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Lucknow: BJP is preparing to shift its UP campaign into high gear, with PM Narendra Modi , Union home minister Amit Shah and party national president Nitin Nabin set to spearhead a series of high-profile engagements over a period of one month, signalling the beginning of party’s intensified organisational and political combat ahead of 2027 elections.
From Varanasi, the spotlight is expected to shift to BJP’s much-awaited state executive meeting, where Amit Shah is likely to take stock of the organisation and outline party’s roadmap for 2027 state polls. Shah, widely credited with orchestrating the BJP’s sweeping victory in the 2017 UP elections, is expected to push for a high-intensity, micro-targeted campaign that combines booth-level mobilisation with sharper social and caste outreach. A key event in this strategy is a proposed joint rally with ally Om Prakash Rajbhar’s Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) in Azamgarh on Nov 29.
BJP is expected to make the most of his visit to showcase its political strength in his parliamentary constituency Although no political rally is on Modi’s itinerary. The high-profile engagements come as the party begins groundwork for a state-wide campaign, with organisational consolidation and the revival of its electoral machinery emerging as immediate priorities. The party has since been reviewing its electoral setbacks, examining district- and constituency-level performance and identifying organisational gaps that may have cost it crucial seats. Tentatively billed as the Samajik Samrasta Maharally, the event is expected to be attended by Nitin Nabin, Yogi Adityanath and UP BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary. Other NDA partners, including Apna Dal (S), the Nishad Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal, are also expected to participate. The choice of Azamgarh is politically significant. Regarded as an SP bastion, the district presents the BJP-led alliance with an opportunity to challenge the opposition on its home turf and demonstrate that its social coalition remains intact ahead of the Assembly polls.
