Prayagraj : In a bid to create employment opportunities for rural and urban youth, a two-day Rozgar Mahakumbh (Mega Job Fair) will be held in Prayagraj on Oct 9 and 10.
Around 100 private sector companies are expected to participate, offering employment opportunities against nearly 30,000 vacancies. The schedule includes City North (Sept 24), Bara (Sept 25), Soraon (Sept 26), Phaphamau (Oct 27), Karchhana (Oct 28), Koraon (Oct 29), Phulpur (Nov 16), Meja (Nov 17), City South (Nov 18), Pratappur (Nov 27), and Handia (Nov 28). Yadav, meanwhile, said a total of 10 job fairs were held in the district during the current financial year. A total of 89 companies and 7,184 candidates participated in these events, resulting in the selection of 2,903 candidates. Similarly, the employment department organised 43 job fairs for unemployed youth in Prayagraj, providing employment to 5,976 participants so far. A total of 40 job fairs were held between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024, providing employment to 5,576 candidates. In the preceding period (April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024), 42 job fairs were organised in the district, securing employment for 6,756 candidates.

“The event is being held under the joint aegis of Regional Employment Office, Prayagraj, and Shambhunath Group of Institutes, Jhalwa, Prayagraj as part of UP Employment Mission,” said Rajiv Kumar Yadav, assistant director (employment). Officials said the Regional Employment Office will facilitate employment in private-sector companies through job fairs organised across all assembly constituencies of the district during Sept, Oct and Nov.
