In the past 24 hours, Kanpur recorded approximately 33.6 mm of rainfall. This precipitation, coupled with light drizzle on Thursday evening, provided a welcome respite from the prevailing sultry conditions in the region.
Rainfall lowered the maximum temperature by around 4°C to 30.6°C, 2.2°C below normal, while the minimum temperature fell to 24.4°C. Intermittent cloud cover and 90% relative humidity persisted despite brief periods of bright sunshine. North-easterly winds blowing at 11.2 kmph provided some relief from the humid conditions.

CSA University weather expert SN Sunil Pandey said cloud movement over the next three days was likely to bring localised thunderstorms, strong winds and light to heavy rainfall across different parts of the city.
