On the concluding day of the trade show on Tuesday, irrigation department showed how 19.48 lakh hectare land was added to agriculture landscape following construction of canals. Executive engineer from irrigation department and nodal officer for the trade show, Mukesh Vaish said, “Major initiatives include revival of 110 defunct canals, sprinkler irrigation projects in Bundelkhand, solar-powered tube wells and rejuvenation of the Kukrail River.

The department managed to modernise water management activity through AI, internet of things and SCADA technologies, including automation of dams, barrages and canals. Such projects directly benefit a large population of the state. The department also supported urban and rural drinking water projects through Jal Jeevan mission.
