Bulandshahr: A 75-year-old farmer was killed by a speeding car in Bulandshahr on Wednesday morning while returning from the cremation ground after collecting the ashes of his only son, 38, who had died of a heart attack a day earlier.
Prakhar Pandey, circle officer of Sikandrabad, said police were trying to identify the vehicle and its driver. Further legal action will be taken after the driver is traced,” he said. “We are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to identify the vehicle and its driver.
His younger brother Pramod said, “We had barely come to terms with Prashant’s death when we lost Ashok too. Ashok went to collect his ashes early Wednesday ahead of their immersion in the Ganga when he was hit by an SUV around 6am. Back home, relatives preparing for Prashant’s last rites learnt that Ashok had also died. It is difficult to put into words what our family is going through.”
Ashok Chaudhary ’s son Prashant died on Tuesday and was cremated the same day, family members said.
