J Sanjay Kumar, a railway officer, has been recognized for his contributions to society with an alumni award presented by Vice President CP Radhakrishnan. This accolade underscores Kumar’s impact in the community, highlighting the role of professionals in public service and societal development.

LUCKNOW: J Sanjay Kumar, 39, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (2015 batch) officer posted as deputy chief vigilance officer of North Central Railway, was presented an alumni award by the Vice-President of India for his contribution to society.

His social work includes restoring nearly 3,000 books in a library at Tundla Junction railway station in Firozabad and planting over 25,000 trees under the “Ek Pedh Maa Ke Naam” initiative in Firozabad and Jhansi. He also launched “Neki Ki Diwar” to provide warm clothes to underprivileged people. The ceremony was held in the presence of Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Governor of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The award was given during the Founders Day celebrations organised by the Kongu Vellalar Institute of Technology Trust, Erode, Tamil Nadu, on Saturday.
