Speaking in a meeting to discuss the working of Civil Defence and the role of its volunteers, the DM said that Civil Defence had played a significant role, ranging from the 1962 India-China war to various emergency situations and Operation Sindoor . amid changing circumstances, volunteers must remain constantly vigilant, alert and ready to assist in any emergency situation. He also directed them to ensure active participation of volunteers not only during emergencies but also during normal times so that the general public could derive maximum benefit from their services.
