Kanpur: Kakadev police on Tuesday arrested a man in connection with the death of his 36-year-old cousin in Mataiyapurwa, Shastrinagar, on Monday. The accused, Ravi Kumar Prajapati, was produced in court and sent to jail.
When she protested, her brother Ravi and his wife Anita arrived. The three allegedly threw Rakesh onto the road and assaulted him, leaving him in a critical condition. The deceased, Rakesh Kumar , in an inebriated state, allegedly abused his cousin sister on Monday afternoon, according to police.

Kakadev inspector Dharmendra Kumar Ram said the accused was nabbed with the help of surveillance and sent to jail. When his condition worsened, they took him to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital, where a doctor declared him dead. Ravi allegedly fled after Rakesh’s death.
