Kanpur: Police on Sunday registered an FIR against 21 people, including 11 named and 10 unidentified accused, for allegedly beating an e-rickshaw driver to death with sticks and iron rods in Farrukhabad on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Akash (40), a resident of Ganga Nagar Colony. Akash had lodged a complaint about a month ago against some local residents following a dispute over whose e-rickshaw would move ahead first, according to police. Investigators said the accused had allegedly been pressuring him to withdraw the complaint. Qadri Gate police station in-charge Kapil Chaudhary said the case was registered on a complaint lodged by the victim’s wife.
