Kaushambi cops interacting with students to create cyber awareness

A senior cop said cyber awareness is crucial to maintaining public trust in digital systems. The initiative aims to educate citizens including students and teachers about common cybercrime tactics and promote safe digital practices. The drive is being conducted at educational instititues, financial institutions, prime markets, crossings and public places. As part of the outreach, the police is also organising street plays (nukkad nataks) based on real cyber fraud cases, along with social media campaigns, awareness videos, jingles, banners and posters. Prayagraj: In a bid to curb the rising instances of cyber financial fraud in rural pockets targeting students, the Kaushambi police on Wednesday launched a cyber awareness campaign titled ‘Satark Rahe Cyber Thagi Se’.
Cops said ‘awareness is the key’ and ‘be alert – be safe’ should be the motive among tech savvy users. Cops said the awareness drive was designed to help rural mass identify such threats at an early stage and prevent financial losses. With the rapid rise in online banking, digital payments, e-commerce and social media usage, cyber offences such as fake bank calls, OTP and KYC scams, phishing links, fraudulent websites and social media account hacking witnessed a significant rise.
