AKTU Launches Innovation Hub UP and Patent Centre

Lucknow: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) introduced the Innovation Hub UP portal on Tuesday, which aims to unify the incubation centres of its affiliated institutions. Additionally, the university inaugurated the Kalam Patent Centre, designed to offer free patent assistance to students, faculty, and startups. Vice-Chancellor Prof JP Pandey emphasized that these initiatives are part of the university’s broader commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

University Launches Innovation Policy with Rs 15 Crore Funding

The university has introduced its Student, Faculty, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Policy for 2026-31, allocating Rs 15 crore to promote innovation. This policy aims to provide financial support to transform student ideas into prototypes and startups.

Under the new initiative, students can receive Rs 1 lakh for their innovation projects, while grassroots innovators can access Rs 50,000, and school-level ideas can secure Rs 20,000.

Additionally, the university has initiated the Innovation for Social Good and Better Bharat program and has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with organizations including Invest CSR Box, Sanchi Connect, Tally Solution, and Rapider Cloud Solution, with the governor in attendance.
