Lucknow: Rampur ranked first in the state in Ayushman card issuance, with 1.79 lakh cards issued in the district over the past year, officials said on Saturday. Rampur district magistrate Ajay Kumar Dwivedi said a total of 6,91,928 Ayushman cards had been issued in the district under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana so far. Cards were also provided to Hemraj and Premshankar, both of whom have 100% disability and belong to the Suar area.
They included cancer patient Kevinder Singh from Poyli Nayak village in Tanda tehsil and Rajkumar Maheshwari from Milak, who is due to undergo leg surgery. Dwivedi said the administration would continue efforts to ensure that eligible families received the benefits of the health insurance scheme. Deputy chief minister and health minister Brajesh Pathak honoured the district with a certificate of appreciation and a memento at a state-level programme held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. He attributed the achievement to coordinated efforts by various departments and an intensified drive to cover eligible beneficiaries. The scheme provides eligible families with financial protection for hospital treatment, particularly for serious illnesses. The district administration has been working to ensure that eligible people are enrolled and can access the benefits. During Janata Darshan, Dwivedi also handed over Ayushman cards to beneficiaries requiring medical treatment and persons with disabilities. Download the TOI App.
