A parent, Shalini Agarwal, said: “Preparing for the admission interaction made me realise that parents need to be confident communicators too. A parent, Richa Gupta, said she watched several YouTube videos of school admission interactions to familiarise herself with the questions asked and the manner in which parents are expected to present themselves. The preparation, she said, made the process feel almost like a “UPSC examination for parents. Their experiences helped me understand what to expect and how to speak about my child,” said Vivek Rastogi, another parent.

Another parent, Amit Srivastava, found the challenge was not just knowing what to say, but knowing how much to say. For his family, the challenge was learning how to give confident and relevant answers without giving one-word responses or over-explaining, so they sought help from interaction experts. “I worked on my pronunciation, confidence and body language, watched videos to understand how to present myself and also spoke to relatives whose children were already studying in prominent schools.
